Welcome! Robin here.

How did I get here?

That’s a fair question—and the honest answer is: by following calling, even when it asked for courage.

In 1999, I left small-town Wisconsin and moved to the Twin Cities. I’ll admit it: I was following my high school sweetheart, Ryan. But I was also pursuing a path that genuinely lit me up—Family & Marriage Therapy. I loved the work, the coursework, and the way it helped me understand people.

After graduation, Ryan’s next step took us to Iowa. The University of Iowa didn’t have the graduate program I’d planned on, so I did what many of us do in a season of transition: I went to work—and found my way into the medical device industry. It turned out to be an unexpected fit.

For years, I built a career I was proud of—working alongside surgeons, sales teams, and leaders at Medtronic. I loved the pace, the challenge, and the responsibility. Truthfully, I never expected to leave.

Then life changed.

Ryan and I started building our family in 2011. We welcomed our daughter, and then in January 2013 we lost our son, Beau. Grief rearranges everything. And yet even in the hollowness of that season, we knew we had a choice: to be consumed by grief, or to live in a way that honored Beau’s life.

That choice became the beginning of No Foot Too Small.

I founded No Foot Too Small while still working full-time in corporate America. I didn’t realize, at first, what we were building—or what it would require of us. But by the end of 2019, the organization had grown to a point that demanded a decision. I stepped away from Medtronic and into this calling full-time.

Today, I serve as Co-Founder and CEO of No Foot Too Small. Over the last eight years, we’ve raised more than $2 million, partnered with hospitals and teaching institutions nationwide, and supported families who never expected to need this kind of community—until they did.

Along the way, I’ve learned that grief and joy can coexist—and that leadership done well is both compassionate and clear. That belief shapes everything I do: the work I build, the people I lead, and the way I show up for others.

I’m also the author and curator of Celebrating Angels, an angel anthology created to honor babies gone too soon and the families who love them still. And I’m currently co-launching Monarch, a breast pump company designed to serve families with excellence and care while helping fund No Foot Too Small’s mission.

These days, I speak and work with individuals and organizations navigating change—helping them clarify purpose, build vocational courage, and lead with intention, especially in seasons marked by grief, transition, or high-stakes growth.
